Artistic Impressions provides a number of different services in Photography. Our Commercial Side provides services in the areas of product, architecture, and advertising photography.

We recently photographed these cables for 6 Sons Audio. They are a local manufacturer of High end audio cables. For simplicity we photographed the cables on a basic white background, allowing the cables to be the complete focus of the images.

New A.I. Team member!

weston__1003_2x3.jpg

If you have been by the studio in the last couple of months, then you have already had the pleasure of meeting the newest member of the A.I. team....WESTON! We would like to introduce to you and welcome our new puppy to the studio. He joined us at he studio (and our home) on November 10th at the age of 6 weeks. He is with us everyday and is a bundle of energy (and a good foot warmer as he likes to sleep under my desk).

Weston is a "Golden Doodle" and is now 15 weeks old. A "Golden Doodle" is a Golden Retriever and Poodle mix. Weston right now is 13.8 pounds. He will grow to be a medium size. We are expecting about 35 to 40 pounds. His mother is a 45 pound Retriever and his dad is a 11 pound toy Poodle.

Poodle's are non shedding, so having the mix means that Weston will be a low to no shedding dog, which is great here at the studio for our equipment...but most importantly he is also allergy friendly. We had first pick of the litter and made sure that we had the curliest, friendliest puppy. Some dogs are what they call hypo-allergenic and Poodles are one of them, so Weston is too. Of course no dog is 100% hypo-alllergenic, but by picking the curliest one (the most Poodle content), he will be for most people that may have an allergy to dogs.

If you are allergic to dogs and would prefer when you come in to not be near him due to your allergies, please just let us know and we will keep him in a seperate room or at home.

Here's Weston on his first photo shoot. He was just 7 weeks old here. He already was sitting nice for the camera. He will fit in just fine here at the studio.

Being at the studio, Weston is being well socialized and will be a great friendly greeter to all who visit the studio.

Weston loves to meet new people, so if you are in the area, please feel free to drop in and say hello....he'll be especially happy if you bring him a treat!

If you would like a "Weston" of your own, I believe they do still have some puppies available. Goto www.cutecritters.ca and click on "available puppies". You too can give one a new happy home!

an unexpected letter

wallack__0045.jpg

This fall I had the pleasure of meeting and photographing a wonderful family. The mother and 2 other family members had come down for a portrait consultation a couple of weeeks before the session. We discussed wardrobe, location, time of day that would be best and of course set two days. One for the first attempt at a good weather day and the second as a rainy day back-up. A couple of days later, I received a phone call from the mother. She wanted to come in and see me again. When she was in, she said to me that she liked what we had discussed earlier, but she really had a distinct image in her mind as to what she would like for the family portrait. So after a little discussion we came up with a new game plan that would capture the family how the mother was invisioning it.

So the day arrived and the weather was amazing. Everyone met at the pre-determined location and off we went to have some fun!

To make a long story short....the mother was very please and so was everyone else with how the portraits turned out. Both Grant and I received very nice Thank You phone calls from the mother when she received the finsihed wall portraits. Another happy family and another moment in history captured forever for this delightful family.

On Dec. 27th Grant ran into the studio for a minute and to our surprise was a letter form the mother.

This is what she wrote:

December 20, 2008

Dear Ingrid & Co.,

I know I talked to you both regarding how pleased I am with the large panoramic portrait you took and made for me (close up with white tops), but I have more to say.

In this photo you definitely captured the essence and spirit of the moment or should I say "second"? It is crisp, clean, airy, cool, timeless, fresh, and in a class of its own, with the subjects being the focus. It is s-o-o-o what I was looking for!

I've had the picture for only a couple of days, (at time of writing) and about 15 people have already seen it. It's getting Rave Reviews! Some of the comments are: awesome, gorgeous, stunning, captivating, cool, really different, fresh, crisp, artistic, a classic style of its own. Everyone who had seen it, so far, is curious as to how we arrived at doing it in the fashion and who the photographer was: which of course I tell them. "Artistic Impressions" has really been talked about a lot these last couple of days at our house among family and friends. It has even been suggested by a few that it may be a good sample for you to hang in your studio as an example of an option to your customers; because it is so different.

I'd like to again thank you for doing such a fabulous job of the finished product. I am so VERY VERY VERY happy with it, and will enjoy it for many many years to come.

I absolutely LOVE it.

Sincerely,

(the mothers name)

wallack__0008a.jpg

What a wonderful surprise in the mail and how nice of the mother to write us such a beautiful thank you note. These days as we are all so busy, I think we all don't take the time to say thank you as much as we should. It is such a small thing, but makes someone feel so wonderful and appreciated. So THANK YOU for your Thank You. It really was my pleasure and honour to photograph your family.

This is the wall portrait that she talks about in the letter that is getting rave reviews. I am so pleased that she is so pleased. This is why I love what I do!

wallack__0138.jpg

Here are some of the other images of the session. I am totally in love with this image. The lighting was just perfect, the subjects are amazing and well co-ordinated. It makes me smile everytime I look at it, as I'm sure it does for them too.

wallack__0126.jpg

I will often do a multiple poses for each smaller group when it is an extended family session.

wallack__0112.jpg

This is the daughter who started it all....she's the one who booked the session with us. THANK YOU FOR LETTING ME CAPTURE THIS MOMENT IN TIME FOR YOUR FAMILY!

Here is an example of one image with two different finishes on it. Our Copper finish is turning out to be a favourite among our families.

Please feel free to contact the studio if you would like to book your family portrait session. I would love the oportunity to capture your family for you and preserve it for years to come.
