Babies! Babies! Babies! Wow have there been a lot of baby sessions recently. Newborn sessions are one of my favourite types of sessions to photograph. Each baby is so special and beautiful…a true miracle of life. Addison - 10 days old
When we, Artistic Impressions, book a newborn session, we recommend the baby being between 7 to 14 days of age for the very best pictures of the baby. The baby is less fussy at this time, and also will have better skin as the baby acne has usually not set in yet.
Kingston - 20 days old
If you would like to capture a family session at the same time, we encourage both parents to be there if possible. As a new Mom, you may feel that this is not an ideal time for you to have a portrait session considering you just gave birth only days ago. But not to worry – years of experience have taught me how to capture you in your best light. By focusing on capturing the closeness between Mom, Dad and baby, and creating an environment where the whole family can relax, the results are keepsakes for generations to come.
As proud new parents you will want to preserve and record every precious moment in your baby’s life. As a mother, I treasure all the pictures of my daughter taken over the years, especially those from her first year of her life as she reached all the different milestones. But the most precious is the newborn portraits as they are so small and delicate. You will be surprised how much your child will change from one week to another.

I strongly recommend comming down to the studio for a planning consultation before you give birth so that we can be prepared for when you arrive and you can have everything you need to bring ready to go. My goal is to create a heirloom portrait where your baby is comfortable and relaxed and will showcase your baby’s sweet, natural expressions.
